On October 2, 2008, Peach Brandy Cottage generously sponsored the NOA Volunteer Awards Banquet. Owners of the special events facility in historic Dawsonville, Caroline Christie and Dr. Alan Metzel, provided a delicious menu and wait staff. The formal ballroom served as a beautiful backdrop for a night to honor dedicated volunteers. The motto of Peach Brandy Cottage, “Choose with your heart…” echoed the thoughts of volunteers as they listened to the guest speaker’s moving account of survival.
NOA Executive Director, Marina Barron presented Attorney Alfred Chang with the 2008 Volunteer of The Year Award for his pro-bono legal strategies to help victims navigate through the criminal justice system and maintain their safety. Lilia Tsvetanova, Keri Leigh Martin, Anthony Falcone and Dr. Amber French all received the 2008 Bronze President’s Volunteer Service Award for 100 volunteer hours.
“We are extremely proud of our designation by the program and are happy to recognize our most outstanding volunteers with the President’s Volunteer Service Award,” said Brenda Bland, Volunteer Coordinator. NOA volunteers are role models in our community, donating their time, energy and talent to bring us closer together as neighbors and as a nation.”
