Interns are an important and valued part of the NOA team. NOA (No One Alone) is established
as a leading voice against domestic violence and a strong advocate for victims
in Dawson and Lumpkin Counties.
Interns contribute substantially to this effort and we, in turn, work to ensure that the intern will have a valuable learning experience. The majority of intern work is substantive, involving research, writing, compilation of statistical data, attendance at professional training and other tasks related to our mission.
Applications are now being accepted for 2009 Internships. Applicants from mulitiple disciplines are encouraged to apply. For example, an intern may be studying social sciences, education, criminal justice, law social work, communications, psychology, business, non-profit management, marketing or technology.
In most cases, it is possible to tailor the internship to the student's particular interests.
Applicants must possess excellent research, analytical, organizational, writing and communication skills. they must be team players and able to work in a fast-paced environment. The ideal applicant is skilled at on-line research and familiar with the Microsoft Office Suite.
